Türkiye’s Wind Power Capacity Under Construction Reaches 4.5 GW
The Turkish Wind Energy Association (TÜREB) has published its statistical report for the second half of 2026.
According to the publicly released summary of the report, the total mechanical installed capacity of wind power plants in Türkiye rose by 297.03 MWm in the first half of 2026, reaching 16,231.08 MW. Projects that would add another 4,520.5 MWm are currently under construction.
Enerjisa Enerji Üretim is by far the company with the largest amount of new capacity under development, at 1,045.80 MW, followed by RT Enerji with 616 MW, Türkerler with 525.6 MW, Efor Holding with 351.4 MW and Yıldızlar Holding with 232 MW.
The turbines for these projects, which are still under development, will be supplied by four manufacturers.Nordex ranks first with 2,684.40 MW, followed by Goldwind with 953.2 MW, Enercon with 650.9 MW and Envision with 232 MW.
Enerjisa Enerji remains the leader
Enerjisa Enerji Üretim also remains the industry leader in existing capacity, with 1,119.30 MW. Borusan EnBW Enerji ranks second with 775.95 MW, followed by Eksim Enerji with 774.6 MW, Polat Enerji with 771.76 MW and GÜRİŞ with 702.25 MW.
Six manufacturers supplied nearly all installed turbines
Nearly all of the wind turbines currently in operation in Türkiye, representing 16,006.9 MW of capacity, were supplied by six manufacturers.
Nordex accounts for 34% of this capacity, followed by Enercon with 24%, GE with 15%, Vestas with 14%, Siemens Gamesa with 9% and Goldwind with 3%.
Wind’s share of electricity generation is rising
Wind energy’s share of Türkiye’s electricity generation rose 1.3 percentage points from the same period a year earlier, reaching 13.52%.
According to TÜREB, as of the end of June 2026, Türkiye had 20,998.30 MW of projects at the preliminary licensing stage, along with 17,893 MW of wind power projects with energy storage.
