Solinved to Begin Operating 5-Gigawatt-Hour Production Line Early Next Month

Solinved, a Turkish energy-storage technology company, said it expected to begin operating a production line for containerized lithium-battery energy-storage systems early next month, following a period of installation work.

The line, installed at the company’s factory in the Başkent Organized Industrial Zone in Ankara, will be brought into operation through a partnership with BYD, one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers.

With an annual production capacity of 5 gigawatt-hours, the line will feature a flexible manufacturing system capable of processing BYD’s proprietary lithium iron phosphate, or LFP, Blade Cell technology, as well as prismatic LFP cells in a range of sizes.

The company said it had already assembled an order book totaling 300 megawatt-hours for projects in Türkiye and abroad, covering the period through the end of November 2026.

In February, Solinved announced that it had signed a cooperation agreement with BYD covering the supply of 2 gigawatt-hours of cells using LFP Blade Battery technology, along with a transfer of technology for both residential and industrial applications.
