Enerjisa to Build an Unlicensed Off-Grid Solar Plant With Battery Storage

Enerjisa Üretim plans to build an off-grid solar power plant with 30 megawatts of installed capacity and a 40-megawatt-hour battery-storage system at the site of the Tufanbeyli Thermal Power Plant.

According to documents filed as part of the project’s environmental-impact assessment, which began on July 20, 2026, the company plans to use electric excavators and trucks to transport the lignite required by the thermal plant.

The electricity generated by the solar facility is intended to meet the additional power demand expected to result from that transition.

An opinion issued by Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority on March 8, 2026, and included in the assessment file as Appendix 5-2, said there was no regulatory impediment to installing battery-storage facilities integrated with unlicensed, off-grid power-generation projects.
