Uşak Wind Farm Completes Repowering Investment

Aydem Renewable Energy said it has completed a repowering investment as part of a capacity expansion project at its Uşak Wind Power Plant.

According to the company, the investment is expected to increase annual electricity generation by 15 Gigawatt-hours and provide an estimated $1 million in additional economic value each year.

As part of the project, five older 1.5-Megawatt Sinovel wind turbines at the plant, which began operations in 2013, were replaced with 6-Megawatt Goldwind turbines.

The older turbines, meanwhile, were relocated to new sites where they will remain in operation.

Following the investment, the company’s total installed capacity, all of it based on renewable energy sources, reached 1,216 Megawatts.
