Small Businesses to Receive Financing Based on Sustainability Scores
Ziraat Bank will offer two new loan packages for small and medium-size enterprises in cooperation with the Credit Guarantee Fund, known as KGF, and the Credit Bureau, known as KKB. The packages will be called the Green Export Loan Package and the Green Investment Loan Package.
According to a statement from Ziraat Bank, small and medium-size enterprises seeking to benefit from either package must have an active Greendeks score of at least C on the Greendeks Platform, which was created by KKB. Both loan packages will be provided with a guarantee from KGF.
Under the Green Export Loan Package, companies or risk groups may receive loans of up to 50 million Turkish liras. The loans, which will be exempt from the Banking and Insurance Transactions Tax, may include a principal grace period of up to three months and a maturity of up to 24 months.
The Green Investment Loan Package will support investments focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency and resource efficiency by small and medium-size enterprises operating in manufacturing, energy, transportation and storage, construction, tourism, trade and information technology. Under this package, companies or risk groups may receive loans of up to 75 million Turkish liras. The loans may have maturities of up to 120 months, with equal installment payments made monthly, quarterly or every six months.
Ziraat Bank said the packages aimed to encourage small and medium-size enterprises’ access to financing as they pursue sustainability goals, support environmentally friendly investments and accelerate the transition to a green economy.
