Nordex Wins 525 MW Turbine Order From Türkerler

Nordex Türkiye said it has signed an agreement with Türkerler Holding to supply wind turbines with a total capacity of 525 Megawatts.

According to the company, the contract covers the R25-Sivas project, for which Türkerler Holding secured capacity rights in Türkiye’s 2025 Renewable Energy Resource Area, or YEKA, auction.

Türkerler Holding, through a subsidiary, won the right to develop 500 Megawatts of capacity with a bid offering a power purchase price of 3.50 euro cents per Kilowatt-hour and a contribution payment of €56,000 per Megawatt, or €28 million in total.

Nordex will supply 72 N175/6.X turbines for the project, according to the announcement. The company will also provide installation and maintenance services under a 10-year service agreement that can be extended for up to 25 years.

Installation of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

At 500 Megawatts, R25-Sivas is the largest single project to have been awarded capacity rights in Türkiye’s wind power sector since the 1,000-Megawatt YEKA RES-1 tender held in 2017.

Because the YEKA RES-1 tender was subsequently canceled, however, R25-Sivas is expected to become Türkiye’s largest wind power plant once it enters operation.

The 525-Megawatt order is Nordex’s second-largest turbine order in Türkiye, after Enercon’s 1,000-Megawatt order from Enerjisa Enerji in 2022 for all projects awarded under YEKA RES-2. It is also the largest turbine order placed for a single project in the country.
