20 June 2026

No limit will apply in 2026 to the sale of surplus electricity by unlicensed electricity generation facilities that have received support under the Renewable Energy Support Mechanism for more than 10 years.

The relevant decision was published by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority in today’s issue of the Official Gazette.

According to the decision, unlicensed electricity generation facilities where production and consumption occur at different metering points will be able to sell their entire surplus production to designated supply companies throughout 2026.

The Authority’s decision dated June 12, 2026, had established that the amount of surplus production that such facilities may sell would be determined by EPDK.
