İş Bankası Commissions Second Solar Power Plant for Self-Consumption

Türkiye İş Bankası said it has commissioned its second solar power plant developed for self-consumption.

According to the bank, the Atlas Mardin solar power plant will meet the electricity needs of its Atlas Data Center and branches.

İş Bankası previously commissioned the İşmer solar power plant in the Ahlat district of Bitlis to meet the electricity needs of its headquarters buildings and branches.

A Project Is Also Underway in Malatya

According to information in the projects’ environmental impact assessment filings, the Atlas Mardin solar plant has a capacity of 17 MWe / 21 MWp, while the İşmer solar plant in Ahlat has a capacity of 15 MWe / 20.9 MWp.

İş Bankası is also continuing work on the Atlas Malatya solar power plant in the Arapgir district of Malatya, which will have a capacity of 13 MWe / 18.2 MWp.

Annual Generation to Exceed 90 Million Kilowatt-Hours

The Atlas Mardin solar plant is expected to generate 38 million Kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, the İşmer plant 30 million Kilowatt-hours and the Malatya plant 23.5 million Kilowatt-hours.

All three projects will be developed under Article 5.1.h of Türkiye’s unlicensed electricity generation regulation, which applies to projects where electricity generation and consumption take place at different locations.
