GÜRİŞ Submits Bid in Kosovo’s First Wind Energy Auction

GÜRİŞ İnşaat was among three bidders to submit valid offers in Kosovo’s first wind energy auction.

According to Kosovo’s Economy Ministry, three valid bids were submitted in the auction, which will award between 50 and 100 Megawatts of wind power capacity.

Alongside GÜRİŞ, France’s Akuo Energy SAS submitted a bid, as did a consortium comprising Germany’s Notus Energy GmbH and Kosovo-based Stublla Energy LLC.

The ministry said the bids will now undergo technical evaluation. Those that meet the requirements will proceed to the financial evaluation stage, with the capacity awarded to the bidder offering the lowest price.

The winning project will receive a 15-year power purchase guarantee under a Contract for Difference, or CfD, a mechanism that provides revenue support based on the difference between an agreed price and the market price of electricity.

Kosovo currently has four wind power plants. The first, the 32.4-Megawatt Kitka wind farm, began operating in 2018 as a GÜRİŞ investment. The company secured a 12-year power purchase guarantee for the project at €85 per Megawatt-hour.

The country’s fourth wind power plant, with a capacity of 70 MWe, was commissioned last month by a company in which Çalık Renewables is the majority shareholder.
