2 September 2026

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, or EBRD, has provided Enerjisa Enerji with a seven-year loan in Turkish lira equivalent to $207 million.

Enerjisa Enerji will use the financing for its Green Electricity Distribution Investment Program, which covers three electricity distribution companies: Istanbul Anatolian Side Electricity Distribution Co. (AYEDAŞ), Başkent Electricity Distribution Co. (Başkent EDAŞ) and Toroslar Electricity Distribution Co. (Toroslar EDAŞ).

Through the program, which covers the 2026-2030 period, the company aims to support the modernization, reinforcement, expansion, and digitalization of electricity distribution infrastructure, while improving the reliability, resilience, and efficiency of power supply in its service areas.

With the financing, Enerjisa Enerji will become the first electricity distribution company to receive a financing guarantee under the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus, or EFSD+, Hi-Bar Guarantee Program.

The EFSD+ was established by the European Union to promote sustainable investment in partner countries and help them meet the Sustainable Development Goals, with the aim of mobilizing up to €135 billion in public and private financing.

The Hi-Bar Guarantee Program provides financing guarantees of up to €168 million for investments under the framework.

Through its three distribution companies, Enerjisa Enerji provides electricity distribution services to 22 million people across 14 provinces.
